FIN 320 form
The FIN 320 Motor Vehicle Appraisal form, explained
FIN 320 (sometimes written FIN-320 or FIN320) is the BC government form used to report a vehicle's appraised value for provincial sales tax. It's the form we complete and sign for you.
What is the FIN 320?
The FIN 320 is the official Motor Vehicle Appraisal form from the BC Ministry of Finance. It records the vehicle's details and its appraised value, and it's signed by the appraiser.
When you buy a used vehicle privately, PST is normally charged on the higher of your purchase price or the Canadian Black Book average wholesale value. A completed FIN 320 lets PST be based on the appraised value instead, when both your price and the appraisal are below Black Book.
Who can complete it?
Not the buyer or seller. It has to be completed by a registered motor dealer or a professional vehicle appraiser. That's the service we provide, online, from your photos and details.
When do I use it?
Before registering: bring the FIN 320 to your Autoplan broker when you register the vehicle.
After registering: send it with the FIN 355/MV PST refund application, which we include for you, within 30 days of registering. Step by step.
